Curated by George Arbid, the exhibition continues an ongoing exploration of architectural archives across the Arab world. Following earlier chapters in Beirut, Cairo, and Rabat, this edition turns to Baghdad, Damascus, and Tunis, drawing primarily from private architecture practices and clients’ archives. Through drawings, photographs, correspondence, physical models, and commissioned documentaries, the exhibition reveals stories behind the production, transformation, and life of buildings and neighbourhoods. It revisits projects that were never realized, as well as those that were later altered or demolished, bringing their histories and unrealized possibilities back into view. By connecting archival material with physical models and present-day documentation of the buildings and cities, the exhibition invites visitors to experience architecture as an evolving record of cultural, social, and political change, while contributing to a broader effort to preserve and make accessible the architectural heritage of the Arab world.
